Hello, my name is Sean Rooney. I am an artist that works with an airy medium: balloons. My aptitude for balloon sculpting revealed itself while I was completing a degree in Anthropology. Student of clowning in a cross-cultural context by day, full-fledged fool by night, card-carrying clown on the weekends. |

Early assignments involved parades, picnics, parties…entertaining all kinds of people…twisting a million balloon dogs… wearing a classic ‘Bozo’ clown face! |

From my beginnings as a humble clown, I refined both my art form and my presentation skills. My work has taken me to many countries, many stages, and more than a few shopping malls. I was named the IBAC, Entertainer of the Year, at the International Balloon Arts Convention in Las Vegas 2000. I have performed three times at Just for Laughs and worked with Cirque de Soleil.

I am just getting started. An acknowledged innovator in my admittedly obscure field, I now feel that the general public is ready for a man of my talents. After all, the balloon was once a respected force in history… think of the Montgolfier brothers in 1793 achieving the first human flight! I aspire to make balloons fly again! |
